Why Some People Don't Go to College?

Here are some problems why some people don't go to college:

1. No schools or universities nearby.
Especially in some provinces, some kids still have to take a 30-minute ride to a jeep or bus just to go to school. You have to add 20 to 70 pesos for the jeep/bus fares everyday depending the distance of the school everyday. That's for the fare only, exclude the food allowance. So Monday to Friday will cost you 100 to 350 pesos per week. Monday to Saturday is 120 to 420 per week.

2. There's a school nearby but they don't offer the course I want to take.
So there's this school nearby you can reach it by just walking or ride a jeep and pay the minimum fare with a student discount but the school does not have the course you want. For example, you want to be an IT professional but the school only offers Secondary Education or Accountancy Will you sacrifice your dream of becoming a IT pro and just become a teacher or an accountant? There's nothing wrong with being a teacher or an accountant but my point is why would you take a course that you do not excel?

3. The school nearby offers the course I want but I can't afford the tuition fee.
It's a good news that the school nearby offers the course you want but the bad news is the tuition fee is sort of expensive. Normally in a private school, a semester costs 10000 to 40000 pesos depending on the name and reputation of the school.

4. There's a school I know. The tuition fees are affordable but it's very far.
For example, you live in a small town and there's a school 50 miles away from your house. Some parents decide to give them extra allowance so they can rent a boarding house near by the school. But renting a boarding house is not as cheap as you think. Boarding houses are also expensive depending the distance from the school. The nearer, the higher the rate.

5. There's a school nearby with the course I want and the tuition fees are affordable.
That is good! But always keep in mind that the tuition fees are not the only schools expenses you have to settle. You still have to think about the expenses everyday like food, fare (if it takes a jeep to get there), extra curricular activities (field trips, seminars, sports festivals, acquaintance parties, etc.)

So how can I go to college?
There is no easy way my friend. People have different approaches to achieve something. Some enroll as a student assistance (school employee) or a working student (company employee) with a flexible work arrangements. Some people also grab scholarship opportunities. So it is in you on how you can balance your time. It's hard but when you got through it, it will be the greatest feeling you can have for you have one of your greatest achievement.
